well for those who havent heard of Xavier Prou aka "Blek Le Rat" he is what we know to be the father of stencil art. with such works as:
well any who many people tend to fight and create arguments saying that banksy is nothing but a copier and nothing short of fake. making money off of the ideas that were originally Blek's well although to the cloated eye that might seem right but really he is only living on a legacy. the legacy of "Blek Le Rat" in an iterview BLEK said
“I respect his work very much. He is very important. I started the movement but he is like my son. I consider him like my descendant. He took some ideas. But he changed them. And he took the movement to a huge level all over the world.
If Banksy didn’t exist I would still be a small French guy in Paris doing my things alone. Now I’m known here, I’m known in the States, I’m known everywhere. Thanks to Banksy.”
so dont think of Banksy as a thief but someone trying to keep a style of art alive
we've all seen his work and now know his actual idendity.
lets see some pics
well anyways i lost track, lets not see one as an imposter but just another artist. one thing i will say is the whole rat thing is and always will be "Blek Le Rats" for he thaught of them as lifes true vandals. in the same interview he also said
"Rats are the only wild animals living in the city. With pigeons. They are the rebels of the city. They are evil. They live in groups. They steal food from the supermarkets. And Paris is full of rats. So it was a way of saying to the people, ‘Your city is full of rats and cockroaches. Be careful where you’re living.’ ”
